...Techie Terms....................................................................................
• We've decided to give our Techie Terms area a 'lil makeover, u ready for it?

"What the heck does that word mean?" Yeah admit it, you've sat there clueless many times not knowing what the heck some computer word meant. But, did you realize Youth Tech has their own dictionary to tons of tech words? Yup, we sure do, and we've had this feature ever since we've been here. Everything gets a 'lil old after awhile and that's no exception to our cool list of tech words. So, we're busily working our magic (how do they manage to put all that magic in the wands anyways?) to update our definitions to our tech words with better definitions, and even adding new words here and there (and everywhere). If you take a peek in our Techie Terms area now, some folders already have been updated. We would have never done this without your suggestions to update this area, you asked for it and ya go it.

. . . Access our Techie Terms area by clicking here.

...Need To See....................................................................................
• "You've Got Mail" has been in the theatres a few weeks now, don't miss it!

You saw them in Sleepless In Seatlle, now see Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks act together in a different movie called You've Got Mail. This movie is about how two people who fall in love online by meeting in a chatroom and later exchanging email all the time, it takes place on AOL to be exact. But, they know each other offline and are complete enemies. What these two don't realize when they talk in real life is that they're the same two who love each other online. I wanted to go see the film just because I'm an addict online, and part of the movie had to do with online too. If you enjoy a light hearted film (it's one you can take grandma to go see and she won't be too offended by the language used) and you enjoy a film that might make ya shed a tear (well I didn't, but my mom did) then I'd definately go see this cool movie! You've Got Mail came out in theatres December 18th, so you still have time.

. . . Get more stuff on this movie by going here.

...Poems Anonymous..........................................................................
• You've shown your poetic side, now ya have a message board to post in!

"Roses are red violets are blue I can't rhyme so how do you do?" Okay, well maybe that didn't make a whole lot of sense, but that was my attempt at poetry. Lots of board posters in the YT Community boards have shown their creative by posting poems to the boards. We've received many suggestions for a "poem" board, and I'm happy to announce we now have one you can display your poems in. Start postin!

. . . Let's see some of your creativity, let's see your poems, just go here!

...YTCC Factoids.................................................................................
• It's a new week and we have a new factoid, with a new victim featured!

This week we take a look at YTCC Perl. Who knew we could be so strange?

Nicknames: YTCC, Host, Sugar Cookie Person,
Fav. Food: Would you believe Sugar cookies?
Music Choice: First off, if I like a song I like the song, if I like a band I like a band, ugh this is such a difficult question to answer because half of the music I listen to I can't put into a category. Let me think... If I had to put my music into categories here's what they'd be: Rock (not that Alternative stuff, because these days everything is considered Alternative), I also seem to enjoy Industrial, (Heavy) Metal, Electronic(a) Jungle, Techno, and Ska/Punk
Weird Fact 1: I spend more time in YTC than the online host. It's amazing I seem to get there before they do...me and my lame attempt at humor.
Weird Fact 2: I have recently started charging admission to my museum (room). Currently Perl's room is displaying the Coke Can Collection. Rarities from all over (school, home, work), computer pieces (modems, hard drives, keyboards, did I mention motherboards) I'm in the process of donating these old computer parts to school, even an Apple II is an improvement over what we've got I think <g>. In the near future the museum is hoping to host Water Wonders (what happens when you open your window and snow falls in)
Habits: Obsession with sugar cookies, hosting, reading the message boards, sleeping, eating, school... strange habits?! Urk.. uh.. err.. ekkk.. ugh.. argh.. uck, I enjoy making sound effects =). <erks>.. see what I mean?
Ways of sucking up to Perl: Bake cookies

. . . If you'd like to yack your head off with YTCC Perl in our chatroom, just come visit Perl Wednesdays & Saturdays at 10pm EST @ keyword: YTCHAT or click here.

...Two Cents Polls..................................................................................
• Soon you can take a poll on the Two Cents topic, results will be in newsletter!

Within the next week or two will also be turning our Two Cents topic into a poll for
our weekly newsletter. Here you'll be able to participate in the poll by submitting in the choice ya picked. The results from the previos week's poll will also be included in the letter to show what the most favorite vote was! Stay tuned...

. . . We're not quite ready to start the polls yet, but check out our Two Cents area by clicking here.

...Chat Addict.......................................................................................
• Here's a small list of some of the cool chats you can attend this week!

When all your homework is done you can drop in on some of our chats. All we require you to bring is some fingers to type with, a smile, and something to say!

AOL Chat (Mondays @ 7pm EST): Come ask any AOL questions you might have. The hosts this hour will try their best to answer it. You'll also get extra brownie points for asking an AOL question neither host knows the answer to. No, asking the YTCCs to name everyone your buddy list won't do ;D (AOL Chat)

Bad Spelling (Tuesdays @ 8pm EST): How bad can you spell? What would you say if I told you, you're a winner if you're the worst speller <gasps in awe>. Well, that's exactly what Bad Spelling is about, the object is to spell a tech word or phrase given to you as horribly as you can. Worst spelling wins! (Bad Spelling)

AOLingo (Fridays @ 5pm EST): You're given an AOL or Internet word, and your job is come up with a phrase for it. The most logical answer wins, check it out! TGIF! (AOLingo)
