I think you should have a trivia area where you could win prizes. You should also have a fact area where you could learn about weird things you never knew about and wouldn't learn about in school.

I basically wanted to send a few kind words to the crew of youth tech *and* it's members, which make YT and the Newsletter possible. I read the newsletter each week, and enjoy it :) It's great to see that there are people that take the time to put it together and to see members give their feedback, opinions and submit articles from time to time. Everyone that has a part in putting together the newsletter ought to be patted on the back for a job well done. ;) It's very informative and great for teens and kids. A comidation to all for a job well done over the past several years... keep up the great work everyone!
Clancy9
I love your newsletter, but I think it would be neater if there were game reviews in the newsletter of new games. Also, It would be neat to list a couple websites too. Thanks.
Dear Clancy9-
We currently have our Games! Central area at keyword: VIRTUALFUN. For websites, try keyword: NETSURF. Both areas are part of Youth Tech. Enjoy!

the v-chip -- do you really need it?
submitted by the newsletter crew
.............................................................................................
The V-Chip...we've probably all heard of it. For those of you who don't know what it is, it's simply a chip in your television set that makes sure whatever you are watching is "appropiate." Is this something that you really need?
I know some children wouldn't even think of watching something their parents wouldn't approve of and thats cool, but should children who are immature be watched in the aspect of what they are watching? And also... do you feel that what you watch effects how you behave? You know what they say--"you are what you eat." Does this also apply to TV? Are the things you watch what you are?
Okay lets use an example that has been talked about lots.. SouthPark.. is it appropiate for teenagers and younger to watch that show? I myself love the show infact I am still trying to figure out who Cartman's dad is. ;) But have you noticed lots of kids at school acting like your favorite character? Come on, you know you have seen it--perhaps a person walking down the hallway acting like Kenny or whoever, or cussing up a storm and talking about their favorite scene...blah...blah...blah. Is that just hinting what you watch is what you are? We need to hear what you think. After all, you are the future and sooner or later you will be making important desicions. So what do you think?

what if Dr. Suess did technical writing?

If a packet hits a pocket on a socket on a port, and the bus is
interrupted as a very last resort, and the address of the memory makes
your floppy disk abort, then the socket packet pocket has an error to
report.
If your cursor finds a menu item followed by a dash, and the
double-clicking icon puts your window in the trash, and your data is
corrupted 'cause the index doesn't hash, then your situation's hopeless
and your system's gonna crash!
If the label on the cable on the table at your house, says the network
is connected to the button on your mouse, but your packets want to
tunnel on another protocol, that's repeatedly rejected by the printer
down the hall, and your screen is all distorted by the side effects of
gauss, so your icons in the window are as wavy as a souse, then you may
as well reboot and go out with a bang, 'cause as sure as I'm a poet,
the sucker's gonna hang!
When the copy of your floppy's getting sloppy on the disk, and the
microcode instructions cause unnecessary risk, then you have to flash
your memory and you'll want to RAM your ROM. Quickly turn off the
computer and be sure to tell your mom.

learn more about YTCC JEN!
submitted by ytccbyte@aol.com
.............................................................................................
YTCCByte: How long have you been with Youth Tech? Also what made ya want to take that leap of joining the Youth Tech Crew?
YTCC Jen: I've been with YT for about a month now, and I joined YT because I like chathosting! I also work elsewhere, and I wanted to get more experience and meet new people.
YTCCByte: If you were trapped on a desert island and could only bring 3 things what would you bring and why? ;)
YTCC Jen: Hehe they'd be my laptop computer, a cell phone, and a friend :) The computer for obvious reasons, the phone to call my mommy so she'd know I was alright.. :)
YTCCByte: Hehehe ;) Would you bring me along? <g>
YTCC Jen: And the friend so I have something to eat when I starve :P hehe j/k
YTCCByte: YIKEs! ;)
YTCCByte: Then I am not coming <g>
YTCC Jen: Nah juss so I have company :)
YTCC Jen: I dunno, are you tasty?
YTCC Jen: <eg>
YTCCByte: I go good with salt <g>
YTCCByte: j/k Q;)
YTCC Jen: LoL
YTCCByte: Hehehe >;)
YTCCByte: Tell us a little about your first computer and what you have learned since having one?
YTCC Jen: My first computer was an Epson 286 with a green and black monitor :) It ran DOS and that's about it, it didn't even have a hard drive. I now work in a computer office, where I build PC's and do PC training :) And right now I'm building an order of a network of 26 Pentium 2's :X It's a LOT of work, but it's fun :)
YTCCByte: Cool!!! ;)
YTCCByte: What things do you like to do when you have some free time on your hands?
YTCC Jen: I like to hang on AOL <g> I've met so many people through AOL and they're the nicest people I also like to take apart my computer and find better ways to put it together, and other normal stuff <g> I also like drivin too :) I drive around a lot when I'm bored.
YTCCByte: LOL ;)
YTCCByte: If computers didn't exist what would you probably find yourself doing?
YTCC Jen: Whoa...thas a toughie :X If computers didn't exist I'd probably find ways to make things work better. Probably work in a tech support place somewhere I'd be in technology somehow tho :)
YTCCByte: If you said 5000 piece puzzle I was gonna drop an anvil on ya <g> Q;) j/k
YTCC Jen: LoL :P I hate puzzles :X
YTCCByte: What would you perhaps like to do in the future? Any dreams?
YTCC Jen: I know exactly what I'm up to :) I'd like to go to college at Penn State for Computer Engineering and Data Analysis, maybe networking too :) And I'd like to have my own computer consulting/design place :)
YTCCByte: What would be your idea of a perfect computer?
YTCC Jen: LoL It'd be a PC :P Prolly a Pentium, like 5 million with oh, say, 1000 megs of ram, multiple T3 internet connections, and a Good sound card because I love sound :)
YTCCByte: If you had that computer when you are done you would give it to me, right? <g>
YTCC Jen: <g> No way it's allll mine :)))
YTCCByte: Hey! ;P.. ;)
YTCCByte: Got any shout-out you would like to say to anyone? Anything you would like to say in closing?
YTCC Jen: I'd like to shout out to my YT family and my other friends...they all know who they are :) And also in closing I would like to say that AOL needs to do something about busy signals already :P
