opinion center: Game System Wars
submitted by YTCC Byte@AOL.com
=====================================================

The gaming wars are a good name for what is going on in the video game industry. Right now, it is happening mostly between Nintendo 64 and Sony Playstation. The major question is "Which system is the best -- Nintendo 64, Playstation, or Saturn?"

For Sony, the Playstation was there first system, for Sega making a new system every year is somewhat a ritual. Nintendo is on their 5th system, meaning they have more experience in making successful systems.

Another consideration you have to think about is Game Developers. Right now, Sony has Square under their belt. Square is the creator of many RPG games and just recently Final Fantasy 7! However Nintendo has more exclusive companies such as Ocean, Interplay, and a few others. Playstation has more games than Nintendo 64, but Nintendo promises to have alot more games as years go by.

And finally the most important part to developers and gaming companies...cost! The Playstation, Saturn, and Nintendo 64 are all $149.99 retail price, however the Playstation games are much cheaper. Why you may ask? Well CDs are much cheaper and easier to make then carts. Also CD games can be put together rather quickly. But one downside to CD games are load times. Both the Saturn and Playstation are CD based, However on the Nintendo 64, there aren't any loadtimes because of the carts. Saturn in fact loads quicker than the Playstation!

In conclusion, with everything in mind... "Which system is the best?".

1. Mini cutting board (great for the office or the car, use metal door for knife).
2. Attach it to a ruler and presto! - you've got a fly swatter.
3. Construct a life size replica of Stonehenge.
4. At a restaurant, shove one under a wobbling table leg.
5. Money clip (use metal door and discard the plastic case...the "rich nerd" look is IN this year).
6. Eye patch (for one-eyed software pirates).
7. Christmas ornaments (the more the merrier).
8. Give them to your younger brother/sister to use as building blocks.
9. Glue them to the bottom of the space shuttle and use them as re-entry burn tiles.
10. Dentures (melt & form them into new teeth for grandma).
11. Room dividers for hamsters.
12. Drink coasters.
13. Use multiple disks to create an ideal door stopper.
14. Ice scraper.
15. Bathroom tile.
