YT SPECIAL: Insight to Ideas on Publishing Your Webpage
-- interviewed by ytcc byte
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YTCCByte: What do you think is the most important part of a webpage?

YTCC Lunar: The opening. Thats the first thing a person sees, and gives them the impression of the page, plus, the nature of it.

YTCCByte: Do you have any tips/tricks for webpages? ;)

YTCC Lunar: Well, animations usually catch peoples eyes, but if you are looking for a simple way to get Text to blink, I would use this tag <BLINK>Text Here</BLINK> Thats the fastest way to get an animation without the downloading of the GIF file :^)
And, something thing people like is giving their input. It gives you an idea what to do next. Also try to make your page so that the colors don't "clash", Make sure you pick out colors that match and wont hurt peoples eyes such as a black background, and green text. It's eye pleasing and easier to read :^)

YTCCByte: What feature(s) do you dislike on webpages?

YTCC Lunar: Ah, Frames. A lot of times, frames can be a BIG problem. With one loading, and the other one not. It makes the page look bad. And, Pages that take way to long to load. I like a few (one or two) animated pictures on your page, but too many can take way to long to load, and it causes disinterest.

YTCCByte: What features(s) do you like most on webpages? ;)

YTCC Lunar: Ah, well, PERFECT question! I love a FEW (as I said, not to many) animated gifs. If the page is organized. Another thing I love to see on a page are counters, a Guestbook, a simple chat room if you can make one, and areas where you can request information, or anything else you may like! Plus, neat colors, and cool backgrounds :) And of course Buttons ;^)

YTCCByte: Hehehe ;) Where do you think AOL and the internet will be in a few more years?

YTCC Lunar: Well, for AOL first. I can see AOL turning in to a International country. . I look for almost every computer member, that is currently using an ISP, to turn to AOL for their Internet needs. And I also look for AOL to start buying other Online services to improve their overall service. And for the Internet...I look for it to get huge. I can see almost every person starting to build a homepage, and everything to get a little more user friendly. I could see how things will build on the net, and a service like Geocities (www.geocities.com) Where you can get a free homepage, to become only one of MANY sites where you could get your own little house on the World Wide Web. I also can see improved content, and better security for personal information .I look for it to be the biggest thing on Earth.

YTCCByte: Where do you find your graphics for your webpages? :)

YTCC Lunar: Well, I either find some on the internet, make my own, or Browse the files in WebDiner!

YTCCByte: What type of technology do you like to see in webpages?

YTCC Lunar: CGI bins, and JAVA. Those are the biggest parts of a page in my eyes...Because, you can have an animated graphic, or you could have a way to interact with people From Asia...and thats the way I think the Internet should be used for. For people all around the world to be able to communicate :^)

YTCCByte: Tell us what you think of JAVA.

YTCC Lunar: I don't have a JAVA-enabled browser here at home but my school does. And when I get on and show the Teachers how to use the Internet, I'm teaching myself with Java. Like with IRC. Java enables IRC. If you were to go to www.talkcity.com , you would be able to use IRC (Internet relay Chat) With that browser. Otherwise, you would have to get another program to add on. And JAVA is a way to be able to see animated Graphics in a whole new way. One thing that I really like is the scrolling/flashing Banner at Paramounts Kings Island (www.pki.com) Home page. Which is very neat. I look forward in learning this new waythat enhances web pages.

YTCCByte: Anything else you would like to add?

YTCC Lunar: Yes...When you go to make a homepage, take your time. Look in to the content...make sure things are in order, links work, Guestbooks post the right way, and you like it!! Usually what YOU like, may appel to other people that surf the net. If you want to maybe get notice from people from around the world, submit your homepage to Major Search Engines! And get interested right here on AOL. Go for a Grade A homepage. What attracts members, and what people talk about, are the pages that people like. Don't worry about looking dumb when asking a simple question, frankly there aren't any DUMB questions as long as you learn. And finally, HAVE FUN! Don't look at building a page as a way for you to relax and enjoy yourself, and for the BIG part..Don't Break Any Copyright Laws!!!

DOS Airlines
Everybody pushes the plane until it glides, then they jump on and let the plane coast until it hits the ground again, then push again, jump on again, and so on.

MAC Airways
All the stewards, captains, baggage handlers, and ticket agents look the same, act the same, and talk the same. Every time you ask questions about details, you are told you don't need to know, and everything will be done for you without you having to know, so just shut up.

Windows Airline
The airport terminal is nice and colorful with friendly stewards, easy access to the plane, an uneventful takeoff...then the plane blows up without any warning whatsoever.

FLY NT
Everyone marches out onto the runway, says the password in unison, and forms the outline of an airplane. Then they all sit down and make a whooshing sound like they're flying.

UNIX Airline
Everyone brings one piece of the plane with them when they come to the airport. They all go out on the runway and put the plane together piece by piece, arguing constantly about what kind of plane they're building.

Then there is OS/2 Airlines...
It can't compete...too many other airlines.
