Click Here We appreciate your feedback! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE NET CENTER: Customizing your NetFind Search -- suubmitted by: ytcc byte ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Many issues back in the YT Newsletter, you were introduced you to NetFind, the new web browsing search by AOL. As we have all experienced from searching the web, searches can be a tedious and daunting task -- With the search results pulling up lots of pages to things you don't want. Did you know that you can get real specific with NetFind? Let's cover a few helpful tips in using NetFind to produce more effective responses to your inquires. -- BE SPECIFIC: If you're looking for animal photos, don't type in one word like "photos" into the search; Instead, try inputting more specific information such as "animal photos". -- COMBINED ARTICLE SEARCHES: Use the word "AND" and the plus (+) sign when inputting your search request to NetFind for all the words you're looking for. For example, "portable+stereos" or "portable AND stereos". There are many other additional ways to make your web searching more effective. Being specific in your find will yield positive results that you're more interested than a broader listing. Keyword: YT > Tech Stuff > The Net Center -OR- Click Here ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ GEEK HUMOR: Helicopter Ride over Seattle -- submitted by hyperyell ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A helicopter was flying around above Seattle when an electrical malfunction disabled all of the aircraft's electronic navigation and communications equipment. Due to the clouds and haze, the pilot could not determine the helicopter's position and course to steer to the airport. The pilot saw a tall building, flew toward it, circled, drew a handwritten sign, and held it in the helicopter's window. The pilot's sign said "WHERE AM I?" in large letters. People in the tall building quickly responded to the aircraft, drew a large sign, and held it in a building window. Their sign said "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER." The pilot smiled, waved, looked at his map, determined the course to steer to SEATAC airport, and landed safely. After they were on the ground, the copilot asked the pilot how the "YOU ARE IN A HELICOPTER" sign helped determine their position. The pilot responded "I knew that had to be the MICROSOFT building because they gave me a technically correct, but completely useless answer."
