napster
other alternatives

Thanks to bands like Metallica, those of us who
were using Napster for merely song-sampling have
been thrown onto the streets, forced to get songs the
old fashioned way: taping them off the radio, or
buying the CD and possibly hating 90% of it.
Technically, however, Napster is still not dead, but
who knows how much longer it will really last.
Associated Press reports say that the average
Napster user has downloaded a considerably
less amount of mp3's ever since the court ruled
that Napster was required to remove all copyrighted
material. Napster will probably be getting a glimpse
of another courtroom in the near future, for now they
are stating that the industry must provide them with
a list of copyrighted songs that they need to remove.
What do us, the American people, do in the meantime?
Sit around and wait for a final verdict? Absolutely not!
Napster isn't the only sharing protocol in the universe.
It might be the most world renown, but there are other
alternatives.

summer
temp rising, prices dropping

Believe it or not, summer is fast approaching us.
Time for beaches, sun, bikinis, convertibles
(Or, if you're like me, you aren't so lucky and have to
settle for windows down and moonroof back). But,
best of all, THREE MONTHS OF FREEDOM!!
Summer, it's everyone's dream come true!
What else is great about summer? Well, last
year I began my job at a computer parts store.
I learned that in the summer time, the prices of
some parts, like memory for your computer, drop
WAY down. Most people think of computer work
to be something they'd rather stay away from when
they could be swimming instead. Think again.
Popping a DIMM of memory into your computer
can take as little as five minutes, and you've saved
yourself a whole lot of money by waiting until summer.
And memory is important because it actually helps
speed up your computer, saving you from a lot of frustration.
And besides, you want to get to Youth Tech as quickly as
possible on a rainy summer day!
