Upgrading to Windows XP

Once you've covered any problems that were mentioned in the compatibility check, you're ready to begin the actual upgrade!

When you first click the Install Windows XP button, you'll be presented with the screen below. Obviously, you'll want to choose Upgrade, so all of your settings and files will still be there when the procedure is all done.

After making your selection and clicking Next, you'll be asked if you want to download any updates to files used by the Setup program. Now you will want to say Yes to this question, and wait out the download process. There's no harm done if you say No to the download updates question, you'll just have a few more Windows Updates to install when the upgrade is complete.
