Troubleshoot Video Problems

Video problems that occurs when you start Windows normally, but
not in safe mode, are usually related to the display driver. If you
have just upgraded windows the culprit may be an outdate display
driver. To find out, use any text editor to open the System.ini file
in you c:\windows

folder. Under the [boot] heading, search for the Display= line. If
you see anything other than Display.drv=Pnpdrvt.drv on this line
the driver is probably outdated and needs replacing.  Try adding
the driver from your Win95/98 CD in display properties; if that
doesn't work, contact your video card manufacturer or visit its
Web site for a win95 or win98 driver update
