When
you go to your video card manufacturer's web site, you'll
probably find two versions of your card's driver. One may
be
labeled "WHQL. certified driver," and the other may be
called
a performance driver. WHQL, or Windows Hardware Quality
Labs, is a Microsoft division that certifies drivers for use
with
Windows. A WHQL certification doesn't assure speed but it
indicates a better chance of reliability. A newer, non-certified
driver posted by the card maker is generally optimized more
for speed than reliability. Chances are good that the
driver
you're running isn't either of these versions, so download both
Try the non WHQL. version first to see how it works.
