It's
possible to associate multiple applications with a single
file
extension. To associate the DOC extension with both Word
and
WordPad, for instance, open any folder window and select View/
Folder Options/File Types. In the Registered File Types
box, find
and select the Microsoft Word Document entry. Click on
Edit,
then on New. In the Action box, type Open with Wordpad.
In the
"Application used to perform action" box type
"c:\program files\
accessories\wordpad.exe" "%1" and click on OK. If
wordpad is in
a different directory on your computer than the one above, use
browser to locate it and adjust the above line accordingly.
Double clicking on any DOC file will launch Word. You can
also
right click on the file and choose Open with WordPad.
