Normally, when Win98 is shut down incorrectly, the next time you
boot your computer, ScanDisk runs. If, for some reason, you want
to stop this (not recommended!), click the "Start" menu, choosing
"Programs," "Accessories," "System Tools," and then "System
Information." On the window that appears, click the "Tools" menu,
selecting "System Configuration Utility." On the multi-tabbed
dialog
box that appears, select the "General Tab," and then click
"Advanced".
Check "Disable ScanDisk after bad shutdown." Click OK to close the
dialog box.
