Is your modem really LOUD when signing on to your
ISP? It's
really easy to quiet it down some if you have Windows
95/98.
Click the Start button, point to Settings, then
open your Con-
trol Panel. Double-click on the Modems icon to bring up the
Modem Properties window. Click the Properties button, locate
the
Speaker Volume control, and drag the pointer all the way
to the left
with your mouse.
