Do
other people have access to your computer, that go through
many of your things on the computer? You can change all of that
by creating invisible files and folders to protect key reports
or parts
of your computer from predators. Follow these instructions one
at
a time make sure you understand how to change icons already
(Read the Daily Mac Tip on Icons)...
1. Open up ClarisWorks or a similar drawing program.
2. Select Drawing at the Main Menu for Clarisworks.
3. Click on the rectangular box on the right side tool bar.
4. Now on the drawing area click and drag a box a little less
than
the size of the grid.
5. While it is selected, click on the bold lines on the right
tool bar
on the very bottom left hand corner...
Click and drag down on
the pop-up menu to the word 'None'.
6. Now press Cmd-C and exit out of Clarisworks and do not
save
the document.
7. Now replace the contents on your clipboard with any file or
folder,
do the same as if you were changing icons --
but instead of get-
ting new icons press Cmd-V on the icon box
(in the Get Info) and
it is invisible.
8. To hide it further, click once on the file/folder and press
return
than hit the space bar a few times.
**To retrieve that file/folder open the folder it is located
within and
choose 'Select All' from the 'Edit' menu, than
replace it with an
icon of your choice!
