Question:

Sound Card not working properly. It's acting funny!!! It has just now started playing sounds again, but the speaker icon next to the clock in the lower-right corner of the taskbar is not appearing, so there is no way I can adjust my sound.

Answer:

You should make sure that your speakers are turned on and the volume is about half way up or more. Also, you can go to the Control Panel (Start Menu > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds) and make sure that you have sounds installed to play. You should check to make sure that your speakers are plugged into the "Output" hole on your tower so that the computer can send the sound to your speakers.
To get the speaker icon back you need to go to the Control Panel ( The
same way as above) but this time click Multimedia instead of sounds
click the Audio Tab, Now check the box that says: Show volume control
on the taskbar. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
