How do I make a New Short Cut in Windows 95?

Answer:

Making a Shortcut is one of the easiest things to do in windows.

1. First, of all minimize all of the current windows so that you have a nice view of the Desktop.
2. On any open spot on the desktop, right click on the mouse. A small window will appear with a few choices in it. Chose; New > Shortcut.
3. A big message box with a graphic will open. The first step is to enter the command line. A command line is just the location of the program. Just like this: C:\WINDOWS\CARDFILE.EXE If you don't know what the path is, then just click on browse and browse around until you find it. Hey that's what it is there for! Once your done click on the Next button.
4. Next, just type in whatever name you want for the shortcut. Mine is going to be Card File. After that just click on Finish.
That is the last step of your Shortcut. If you ever want to change the Icon of the shortcut, just click on Properties > Shortcut Tab > Change Icon Button. Windows will give you a wide selection to chose from.

***Note:
Not every program will work in Windows 95. Some MS-DOS apps can become hostile. If that is the case, you will need to reconfigure the program or just run it in MS-DOS Mode.
