How do I change my Resolution in Windows 95?

Answer:

To change your Resolution go to; Start Button > Settings > Control Panel > Display. That will open up a box that has 4 tabs in it; Background, Screen Saver, Appearance, and Settings. Click on the Settings tab. From this spot you can change the resolutions, number of colors, and large or small fonts. Sometimes after a selection it may want to do a test with the monitor first. If it does and the screen turns into fuzzy garbage, just leave it. Windows 95 should jump back out of it in about 15 seconds. Another thing is that Windows may want to restart you computer, if so let it. Once you come back into Windows, the resolution that you chose will be operating.

PLEASE READ:
This may also happen, once you restart windows the screen may be totally fuzzy. Since you can't see the desktop, let alone the mouse, you cannot change the resolution back. Don't fret! Restart your computer, as the boot is just about to start you will see something to the area of "Now Starting Windows 95." Quickly hit F8, if you didn't hit it fast enough the boot will start normally. If you did hit it in time, a list of choices will appear. You want to chose; Safe Mode. Once you do that, Windows 95 will go into it's safe mode. The desktop will look the same, it just has 4 lines that say "Safe Mode" in the corners. Repeat the directions above, and try to find a resolution that will work. Once you're done, restart the computer normally.
