Question:
Ok I'm playing a CD in my CD ROM in my computer. I want to make a WAV from one of the songs on the CD but I
don't know how! And I also don't have a microphone. How can I do this?

Ok, fortunately, almost every sound card can do the operation you mentioned. It's real easy, however it's hidden. Here's how you do it:
1. Open the Windows Volume Control. Do this by double-clicking the little speaker next to the clock on your taskbar. If you don't have a little speaker, click on Start, point to Programs, then Accessories, and finally Multimedia. There should be a program there called Volume Control. Click that, and a new window will appear. However, you don't want to mess with this window.
2. Go to the Options menu in this window and choose Properties.
3. In the window that appears, click on Recording, then click OK. This will list all possible inputs.
4. Click on the little box under the volume slider for your CD AUDIO or Line In, depending on your sound card. This will select that as the recording input.
You should now be able to go into your WAV recording program, start your CD, and start recording.
