I installed a new US Robotics 56k internal modem and I can't get it to work. How do I get rid of my old modem without
removing it as it has other things on it besides the modem such as

        Answer:

After you have installed your modem physically, you still need to configure it to your computer's needs. To do this, click the Start button, Settings, then Control Panel. Now find the Icon labeled "Modems" and double-click it. After doing so, you should see your old modem's listing. Now, just click "Add" and follow the directions. When you're done, your new modem will be available for each individual program, such as mwave, most probably by using a "Setup" command under the file pull down menu.
