Question:

I have a slide show due tomorrow for school and I had to create it at home on my Compaq. My desktop publishing class uses only the Mac platform. I created my slide show in Power point version 7.0. I tried everything I could think of when I got to class to get the Mac to read the file, nothing worked. Not even the title on my 3.5" floppy showed up correctly on the Mac's screen. My questions are: 1) Is it possible to view my slide show on a Mac? 2) If so, how should I save the file on my Compaq so I can present it in class?

Answer:

Assuming the Mac in your classroom is a Power Macintosh, and as long as they have Powerpoint for the Mac, there should be no problem reading the file. Power Macintosh computers can read both PC and Mac disks, and Powerpoint for the Mac should be able to read Powerpoint 7.0 for Win files.

If the computer in the class room isn't a PowerMac, there is an Apple utility called Apple File Exchange (I believe) that can read PC disks on
Mac's. Then you could move the file onto the computer's hard disk and read it from there into
          Powerpoint.
