Question:
How do I get my computer to detect newly installed memory. I have 32Mb and installed an extra 16Mb to that -- How do I check to see if this extra memory was detected? (I am not sure if the memory has to be installed in pairs) Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Normally, memory has to be added in pairs. The way to check is to open the System Control Panel. To do this real quick, all you need to do is right-click on the My Computer icon on your desktop and choose Properties from the menu. Near the lower right corner, it should say what kind of processor is in your computer, and underneath that line should be the amount of memory that is detected in your computer.
