Question:
Hello....I have a problem with my Mac Performa 630CD, I downloaded MacAmp. And
every time I try to run it, it says "Error 192". What is that, and what do I have to do to run MacAmp?
Answer:
MP3s (Which MacAMP is designed to play) are a highly compressed sound. They are so compressed that you need a PowerPC to decode them with at least a 60 Mhz (very least) processor!! 68k Processors in that old performa, such as you have are unable to decode that sound. You need a Pentium chip on the PC side if you wish to play MP3s with WinAMP. This is not due to the applications that can handle MP3s.. but the actual sound itself :-)
