System Settings Computer Name Tab: The main purpose of this tab is for networking purposes. The first field, Computer description, is for exactly as it says. It doesn't serve any real purpose when networking it's more-so for convenience. Type any description here you'd like, or leave it blank.

The next field, Full Computer Name, is used to identify your computer if it's on a network. To change this setting, click the "To rename this computer or join a domain, click Change [Change]" button. Another window will appear asking you to change the information (Below). Simply enter the desired computer name and choose whether the computer is to join a workgroup or domain. After you have made any necessary changes, click Apply then OK.
