Customizing
Your Windows XP
Start Menu Part 3
by Bill C.
There are three major sections
to the Start Menu customization screen: Icon Size, Programs, and
Show on Start Menu..
The first section allows you to select whether you would like
large or small icons to be shown on your Start Menu. As you saw
in the first picture, I have chosen Large Icons.
The second section is Programs. This is where you’ll set how
many items your “Recent Programs List” will display. I have
chosen 6, but you can use whatever number you feel most
comfortable with.
Last, but not least, in this window is “Show on Start Menu”.
This allows you to choose whether or not—as well as
which—applications such as your Default Web Browser and Default
Email Client to show up in your Start Menu list. I have chosen
not to have my Internet browser, Internet Explorer, to be shown,
because I have a shortcut on my desktop for that program.
