Windows 98 Control Panel

Mouse Settings Continued

  • Motion: The last tab in the Mouse Properties box is the Motion Tab. Here you can adjust the speed that your pointer moves across your screen.  If you seem to have trouble controlling your mouse, you can slow the pointer speed down by moving the bar to the left. This should help give you more control. If you find that you want to be able to zip around your screen quickly, then just slide the bar to the right. Trial and error will help you find the speed that is perfect for you.

Use the pointer trail dialog to choose whether or not you wish your
point to have trails behind it as you move it across your screen. Which can be a cool effect if you like those kinds of things. Just check the box next to "show pointer trails" and then you can adjust how long of a trail you wish to see by sliding the bar to the left for shorter trails and to the right for longer ones.  NOTE: If you don't have show pointer trails checked, this option will  be grayed out
    and unavailable to you.
