Windows 98 Control Panel

Keyboard Settings

  • Keyboard Settings - Language Tab: From this tab you can make any necessary adjustments to your keyboard layout and/or language. It's recommended you don't change these settings unless you're sure they require it.

  • Languages In this box is a list of Installed Languages and their assigned layout for your keyboard. You can add languages by clicking the add button and browsing through the drop-down menu. Once you've selected your desired layout you will need to make sure it is using the correct layout. Do this by clicking the Properties button and browsing through the drop-down menu.

  • Default Language: This will be the language your keyboard uses automatically unless you change it manually. Select (highlight) the language you want as default and click the Set as Default button.

  • Switch Languages: For convenience with more than 1 language, options are available to quickly change between them. You may select key sequences that when pressed will change the keyboard's language/layout. Left Alt + Shift or Ctrl + Shift or None are the options. Below is a Enable Indicator on taskbar checkbox. Check this if you want an icon/message on your taskbar (start bar).
