So, you've downloaded our customized version of mIRC,
and you're having questions about how to install it. This page will walk
through the entire installation process, and hopefully answer any
questions you might have!
First, find the file you downloaded and double-click the icon.
This window will appear. Click the Setup button to begin installing,
or click Cancel if you don't want to install it.
If you click Setup, it will unzip and run the installer. This Welcome
page
will appear when the installer is loaded. Click Next to continue.
The usual legality - the license agreement. Click Yes to continue
installing,
or no if you don't agree with the license.
Clicking Yes will bring you to our Readme file. If you read nothing else
on this screen, make sure you read the Quick Start section. That section
will tell you how to get to our chat room FAST once you're done
installing.
Click Next to continue.
Where do you want to install mIRC? That is what this box is asking.
If you don't know where to install it, accept the default and click
Next.
If you want to install it somewhere else, click Browse to change the
location, then click Next when done.
This is the Select Components screen. We don't have many components
to include yet, but you can choose whether or not to install the sounds
when installing the program files. Check the options you want, then
click the Next button to continue.
What do you want on your Start menu? This page lets you pick a different
name for the folder on your Start Menu that the icons are installed.
Change this if you want, and click Next to start copying files.
The files for the various options you have picked will
be installed now.
When they are done installing, you will see the next window.
This box is telling you that all the files are installed, and you're
almost there!
Click the Finish button to exit the installer.
Now, to start chatting...
Click the Start button...
...Click on Programs...
Click on Youth Tech, then click mIRC - YT Edition!
Congratulations! You've just installed and run the
Youth Tech Edition of mIRC!
