What made Youth Tech what it is today? Was it Jeremy? or  Maybe
AOL? or The YTCC's?  Yes all these things did contribute to Youth
Tech and it's success, but no that's not the answer. Our Members
have made and continue to make YT the great community it is.

It's all about YOU!

Ash's Story

Hm, where to start, where to start.. ;)

I guess I first stumbled through those YT doors late in 1996, or maybe early '97.. it doesn't really pertain to the story, so let's just say Late '96.

I, in 1996, was just finishing up chemotherapy from being diagnosed with cancer in 1995.  (Ooh, ahh. Oh, I'm fine now, thank you.)  Anyhoo, I had basically lost all of my friends because hey, at 11, you get kinda freaked out by that sorta thing.  So I was sitting at home, in a wheelchair, with a bald head and junk - and I found my way to this way cool chat room called Youth Tech (they kicked me outta the "Blabbatorium" because I was too old).

Immediately I met the "regulars" or The Fam, and they took me in without question.  It shocked my poor little 12 year old mind that people could accept you based on your personality rather than your looks.  (Mine at the time were not so hot, keep in mind.)

I made some of the best friends in Youth Tech, some better than those I've had in real life.  Hm. YT has been a Godsend in my life.  I love each and every person I've been friends with in the past 4 or 5 years, and I thank you all for.. just loving me, when most of the world felt they couldn't. =)
