how all the scoop on our Java room
If you enter our room through the ENTER YT CHAT link in Chat central you will be using the Java Client. Find out all inside info on using the room here!
The first thing you need to do is log into our room. When you click the link to chat you are taken to a screen where you will see the following boxes.
Name - You can enter your nickname or leave it blank.*
Click log in and you are ready to rock!* Nicknames need to be entered without a space. If you leave the
box blank you will enter with the nickname of guest.
ROOM FEATURES FOR FUN!
To the right of where you enter your text to the room is a little gray box titled options and actions. Click on this and a list of things appears. Below is a short description of each item and what it does.
Send as Action- Sends the text as an "action"... if you type in the message "rolls eyes" instead of appearing that you
said "laughs", it will appear that youdid "rolls eyes".
Send as Sound- Sends a sound into the room. A dialog pops up to allow you to choose the sound you wish to send, and provides a place for you to type an "action" you will appear to take when the sound is played.
To member- Sends this message privately to the user that is currently selected in the list. Click on a name in the room list and choose this option.
Ignore Member- Stops showing you what this person is saying both privately and in the room. Click on a name in the room list and choose this option.
Person to Person Chat- You can use this option to chat with this person privately. Just like you would chat in an Instant Message.
Click on a name in the room list and choose this option.
Members profile- View this user's profile. You can use this area to email him or view his web page.
Clear all ignores- Removes an ignore you have previously done for this member.
