AOL USERS WITH PARENTAL CONTROLS enabled will not be able to connect to our room. We are working on this with AOL and hope to have it fixed soon.
What kind of browser do I need to chat?
You need to use a web browser that is java enabled in order to use chat at Youth Tech. If your browser is not java enabled you will not be able to chat. Recommended browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher & Netscape Navigator 4.0 or higher.I use America Online, how can I chat?
Just connect to AOL, go to the Word Wide Web, minimize the AOL window and launch a java enabled browser.
I am using a java enabled browser and still can't access the chat
Make sure that your browser's java feature is enabled.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer: Enable java by selecting "View" from the browser's pull-down menu then choose "Options," "Security." Check the "Enable Java programs" checkbox
• Netscape Navigator: Enable java by going to the browser's pull-down menu and clicking "Options," "Network Preferences," "Language." Make sure the "Enable Java" checkbox is checked.
How can I register a nickname?
At this time you are not able to register a nickname with Youth Tech. You can still log in with a nickname by typing the name in the box. No spaces in the name. You will be able to connect just as long as someone else is not currently using that name.

You need to be using AOL3.0, AOL4.0, or AOL5.0 for Windows95/98. 16 bit versions of AOL will not be able to use our java chat room.
